When the truck delivering this 100-ft-long, 175,000 lb propane tank couldn't make it up the 13° grade to the delivery site, Buckingham Heavy Transport contracted to complete the final stage of the transport. Buckingham lifted the tank from the trailer onto stands and used tank rollers to rotate it to its proper orientation. They installed twelve lines of Goldhofer SPMT under the tank and began the 200-yard trek of narrow country road up the hill to the site. At the site, Buckingham raised the Goldhofer platform and maneuvered the tank over the stands. When it was in position, they lowered the Goldhofer and drove it out from under the tank, leaving the tank in final placement. The E-steer modules allowed Buckingham to place the tank without contracting a crane, saving the client thousands of dollars and the extra time of crane mobilization.
