This 237,000 lb transformer delivery entailed transloading the transformer from railcar to 6 lines of Goldhofer SPMT, cutting and cleaning the railcar, and then transloading again from the Goldhofer to our Trail King TK300 dual lane trailer for the 22-mile route to the substation. We used steel plate at both the rail siding and offload site due to the narrow route and muddy conditions. At the substation, we used the Buckingham jack & slide system to unload the transformer to the new pad, and rotated it into place.
