Buckingham Transport and Wolfe House Movers recently assisted with the replacement of a Pennsylvania Turnpike Bridge by hauling away the older sections that were being replaced and hauling in pre-built sections to be set into their places. This process, known as "Accelerated Bridge Construction", was completed over a single weekend. Normally, this type of project would take 6 months but under the accelerated time-frame, Buckingham teamed up with J.D. Eckman (the project General Contractor) to make it happen in a much shorter time. The new 280,000 lb pre-built bridge sections were loaded onto the Buckingham Power Dolly Transporters and Goldhofer STZ-P9 trailers ahead of time and staged just down the road in preparation. Once the existing bridge sections were removed and hauled away, the new pieces were moved into place for a crane to pick them up and place them into the final position. Due to the Accelerated Bridge Construction, the Turnpike was shut down only 55 hours rather than the 6 months of restricted traffic flow.
